The China-CEEC Dance Culture Union annual conference was held in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia from April 11 to 13. Two Chinese participants including Guo Lei, President of Beijing Dance Academy, attended the conference. At the meeting, participants discussed and adopted the Charter of China-CEEC Dance Culture Union Regulations drafted by Beijing Dance Academy, voted to admit two Montenegrin art academies to the Union, and discussed and reached consensus on the future exchange and cooperation plans within the framework of the Union, work ideas, etc.

With the support of the Ministry of Culture of China and the Beijing Municipal Government, Beijing Dance Academy signed the Statement on the Establishment of China-CEEC Dance Culture Union with 18 dance culture and art institutions from 14 countries in Central and Eastern Europe in May 2016, marking the official establishment of China-CEEC Dance Culture Union. Guo Lei, President of Beijing Dance Academy, serves as the chairman of the Union. The Union’s first annual conference was held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in October 2016. To date, the Union has 23 members.

This meeting is organized by the Union member Skopje Dance Festival in Macedonia. Founded in 2005, this dance festival is an international dance art exchange platform with distinctive features in Macedonia. Held once a year, the festival for three weeks. During the conference period, the participants watched performances at the dance festival.
