1.Brief Introduction:
The National Institute of Music and Dance is a state-run cultural institution in Poland. The Institute’s basic mission is to support the development of music and dance culture in Poland.
The National Institute of Music and Dance runs residency, artistic, research, publishing and grant programmes designed for the Polish music and dance communities, implemented via competition formula. It also administers Ministry programmes. The Institute runs a wide range of educational activities, including both original NIMiT programmes and projects run directly by the Institute and addressed to the youth and senior citizens.
The National Institute of Music and Dance also studies the condition of dance and music communities; presents reports and postulates to the Minister, providing expertise; handles documentation and archives; commissions research; encourages quality improvement in music and dance education; supports cultural institutions and non-governmental organisations; initiates celebrations of anniversaries of important events in the history and development of dance and music; and coordinates the activities of cultural institutions.
The National Institute of Music and Dance participates in the exchange of information and experience between Polish and international professional organizations.
The Institute actively supports the development of professional music and dance communities in Poland, organising the Polish Music Convention and the Dance Congress which provide ample space for exchange of experiences and self-reflection, as well as running conferences, workshops and training for dance and music professionals. It also develops publicly available special reports and expert opinions, and runs a programme assisting dance artists in acquiring new professional qualifications.

3.Most Interested Field of Cooperation:
Multilateral cooperation with all participating organisations: dancers and choreographers exchange, artistic residencies, traditional and contemporary dance workshops, students and scholars exchanges, artistic productions: dance performance, film and new technologies, tournees of performances, promotion and documentation of dance works.
You are also welcome to provide the English introduction or news of your cooperation or activities with China any time, and we will translate them into Chinese and put them up on the website. The photos should be in high resolution but within 5MB, JPG or JPEG format.
National Institute of Music and Dance is continuing the Roots of Dance project with students of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in Hangzhou, China which started in October 2020.
The Roots of Dance project is about stimulating creativity of young generations of dancers and choreographers by coming back to roots of culture, to look for incentives in local cultures to develop contemporary dance and to enrich dance culture of the world. Besides Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, other participating organisations of the projects come from Poland, India, USA, Malaysia, Mexico, Canada, Croatia and Georgia.
The first part of the project included a short online introduction to the lowlands and highlands folklore of Poland as well as choreographic workshops.

In 2022 we are planning a visit of Polish choreographers, dancers and dance experts to the Conservatory to lead a series of workshops for young dancers and choreographers. Afterwards, they will be invited to come to Poland to take part in workshops with participants from other dance institutions, which will result in a dance performance.
