1.Organization Profile

Nanjing University of the Arts is a century-old school with a long history and profound heritage. It is located in the main urban area of Nanjing, where history and modernity complement each other, and in the urban cultural circle, where tradition and fashion blend organically. As the earliest independent institution of higher art in China, Nanjing University of the Arts is jointly established by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province.

In the course of running for more than a century, Nanjing University of the Arts has inherited excellent cultural traditions and accumulated profound cultural heritage. Adhering to the school running concept of “Hong Yue Shen Mei” established by Mr. Cai Yuanpei, chairman of the board of directors of Private Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, and “Constant Change, Constant Transformation” proposed by Mr. Liu Haisu, Nanjing University of the Arts has cultivated generations of excellent artistic talents.

After more than a century of construction and development, Nanjing University of the Arts has kept pace with the times and grown stronger and stronger after going through the vicissitudes of life. It has become an influential comprehensive higher art institution at home and abroad.

As a member of the China-CEEC Dance Union, Nanjing University of the Arts, while gaining access to a broad resource platform, hopes to further strengthen exchanges among teachers, high-quality works, and students through annual meetings and joint performances, so as to promote mutual learning among members of the union in different dance cultures.
